Simon Levy, a serial sex offender, was being monitored by the police while he carried out the murder of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39.

Levy raped a 40-year-old woman in January 2025, before killing Valencia-Trujillo in March, and Wilkins five months later.

Levy carried out the sexual assault in the same carpark in Tottenham where he later killed Wilkins.

The three women targeted by Levy were sex workers funding a drug addiction.

The Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police and Crown Prosecution Service admitted failings in Levy's case, having left him free on bail to carry out the rape and double murder.

Levy was revealed during his trial at the Old Bailey as convicted of attacking multiple women since July 2018, including a prison officer in 2022.

Levy didn't give evidence during his trial but pleaded not guilty to the double murder plus two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent and non-fatal suffocation against the surviving women.

Judge Mark Lucraft KC adjourned sentencing until Wednesday 12 August and remanded Levy into custody.
